Linear A keyboard
This is an online Linear A keyboard, the undeciphered script used to write Minoan. Note the following points:
- For every symbol you can write the ID, e.g. 8 for 𐘇, 22 for 𐘒, etc. The preceding asterisk is not required though it works as well.
- For proposed recognised syllabograms you can write the syllable, e.g. ka for 𐘾, alongside 77, etc.
- The Unicode name preceded by u was also taken whenever present as a possible alias, e.g. ux for 𐝎, ueyyy for 𐝔, etc.
- Numerals must be preceded by a n and will be converted automatically, e.g. n2 for 𐄈, n24 for 𐄑𐄊, n2630 for 𐄣𐄞𐄒, etc.
- These inputs must be followed by the pressing of dash or space in order to be converted. Any following whitespace character will also work.
- Use the comma , for the word divider 𐄀. Also use the brackets [[ ]] and < > for ⟦ ⟧ and ⟨ ⟩ respectively.
- This keyboard is limited by the character present in Unicode. A number of ideograms, especially combinations, are missing from it.
- Please use this only to transcribe existing Linear A inscriptions and not to make up original ones. Misinformation is fast to spread and hard to extinguish.
If you are seeing boxes instead of symbols please install the font Aegean or Noto Sans Linear A. The symbols supported by Unicode are the following:
For Linear B inscriptions, use the Linear B keyboard.
